Ross “Rosco” Sovern

It’s been 6-years since Ross got into the construction game, but once he started, he didn’t waste any time gettin’ at it. Today a GC and founder of Cattle Dog Construction, Ross also specializes in kitchens, bathrooms, decks, gum flapping, lunch time, and (perhaps most importantly) a cheerleader for the boys because in his own words “they all work way harder than me.” To say Ross is eccentric is an understatement. When it comes to anything he is passionate about, his big heart leads him to big dreams, and those dreams always revolve around what’s good for those around him. Even amidst his dedication to revolutionizing the industry, Ross still enjoys the simple things in building; the struggle, pulling carpet staples, busting up tiles glued to backer board, replacing rotten rim joists--just to name a few. When Ross isn’t on the job spreading smiles, you’ll likely find him fishing, hiking, camping, throwing hatchets, smoking meat, going down supply chain rabbit holes, and his favorite, hanging out with his wife and his two kids.

Chris “Croak” Melseth

When Chris started in the trades 22 years ago, he was primarily a roofer. Since then, however, he has learned every aspect of construction, from remodeling existing homes to building them from the ground up. His vast knowledge naturally led him to become a licensed GC, and although he can do every job it takes to build a home, he specifically prides himself in his framing. What inspires and ultimately drives Chris is producing high-level work in which he can watch projects develop from concepts to real structures that people will live their lives in and enjoy. When Chris isn’t building, you can catch him camping, traveling, and spending time with his 4 kids.

Pat “The Skookum Choocher” Avery

Pat is a long-time vet who has been in the trades for just under 3 decades. Although Pat is well-versed in the industry as a whole, he focuses most of his energy on roofing, siding, drywall finish, and millwork. From his early days on job sites with his pops to more recently raising his own kids in the trades, construction is all Pat has known. He enjoys building for purpose but what really drives Pat is when he finishes a project that either meets or exceeds the client’s expectations. When Pat isn’t on the job, he spends his days kayaking, hiking, camping, enjoying live music with friends and family, and most importantly, paying visits to his kids and his 2 grandsons.
